  8. Appreciate the spiciness of a good kimchi jjigae.
  9. Learn how to dance from a Korean instructor.
  10. Say saranghae (I love you) to a special someone, whether they’re Korean or not.
  11. Appreciate the air-conditioning on the subway in the middle of July.
  12. Enjoy the 300 km/h speed of the KTX train.
  13. Try your best to converse with a Korean taxi driver.
  14. Try on an Andong-style wooden mask and learn part of the dance behind it.

  37. Raise funds for a Korean charity by acting, dancing, singing, or otherwise being silly.
  38. Dress up as something crazy for Halloween in Hongdae.
  39. Go skiing at one of the dozen ski resorts around the country.
  40. Mix yogurt and soju. See what happens.
  41. Push yourself across the ice on a sseolmae (wooden sled).
  42. Take a bike ride along the Han river.
  43. Use your connections to get on one of the American military bases.
  44. Go to a traditional Korean wedding.
  45. Buy some fish at the Noryangjin fish market.
  46. See NANTA or another non-verbal, high-energy performance.
  47. People-watch at Garosu-gil over a cup of coffee.
  48. Get up to a moktok (a wooden instrument used in Buddhist temples) at 3:30am for a Korean Buddhist templestay.
  49. Sleep on a circular bed.
  50. Munch on some bosintang (dog meat soup) or some live octopus.
  51. Try the Korean version of ‘forest therapy’ in either Damyang or Anmyeon-do.
  52. Go to an outdoor market (maybe Jicalgchi Fish Market in Busan)
  53. Watch the sunrise in 젼동진 (Jeondongjin).
  54. Watch the sunset in 볼영 (Boryeong).
